The Irish Open is to be sponsored for the next three years by mobile network
3, with prize money increased by nearly Ј450,000 to Ј2.7million.
The tournament will be played this year at County Louth, Drogheda, from May
14-17.
Robert Finnegan, chief executive of the new title sponsors, said: ''The Irish
open is a real sleeping giant and we're looking forward to bringing it back to
its rightful place as one of the strongest tournaments in Europe.''
