Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee edged out Welshman Rhys Davies and Australia's Andrew Dodt in a play-off to win the Hana Bank Vietnam Masters and end a two-year title drought.
Jaidee fired a five-under-par 67 to finish 15 under and force the three way play-off with Davies (66) and Dodt (63), who both completed their rounds with birdies at the 18th.
Davies missed a three-foot birdie chance at the first play-off hole as all three players recorded pars.
On the second extra hole Dodt found the rough off the tee and was eliminated when he failed to match the birdies of Jaidee and Davies.
At the third play-off hole Davies found a bunker off the tee and Jaidee's par was enough to record his ninth Asian Tour title at the Vietnam Golf and Country Club.
"I played well in regulation play but the play-off was intense. Rhys was unlucky but I took advantage and I'm extremely delighted," said the 29-year-old, who last won at the 2006 Volvo Masters of Asia.
"It's been two years since my last win and to win again brings back a fantastic feeling."
Davies, whose closing bogey-free 66 was his best round of the week, was happy with his overall performance despite the outcome.
"I'm pleased as I played well," said the 23-year-old Asian Tour rookie. "But on the third play-off hole the ball was buried quite deep in the sand and I had a mis-hit. It was unfortunate."
Dodt was 72nd on the Asian Tour's Order of Merit at the start of the week and was happy to have sealed his card for next season after shooting a blistering course-record 63.
"It was a good week. I was nervous heading out to the play-off but credit to Thongchai and Rhys, who played well," he said.
"I had a great run on the back nine in regulation. I fired an eagle on the 10th hole followed by four straight birdies. That was a nice comeback."
Thailand's Thaworn Wiratchant (68) finished fourth at 12 under, with overnight leader Kodai Ichihara of Japan (71) a further shot off the pace in fifth.
