Trio hold lead at rain-interrupted Avantha Masters

GURGAON, India (AP) — Barry Lane of England shot a 5-under 67 Friday to share the clubhouse lead of the rain-interrupted second round at the Avantha Masters.

Lane was joined at 10 under by John Parry of England and Chan Yin-shin of Taiwan, who each had a hole to play.

Lane began the day tied for third and three shots behind first-round leader Marcel Siem. He had three birdies on both the front and back nine to offset one bogey and overtake Siem.

Darren Beck (65), Andrew Dodt (68), Lam Chih-Bing (68) and David Drysdale (67) were next at 9 under.

Siem had slipped to 7 under when bad weather, including hail and lightning, intervened with three holes to play.

Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland moved into contention at 7 under with a 66. He had nine birdies, including seven in his last seven holes.
